Obituary- Harrell Jones
Friday, January 9, 2026

Harrell Bond Jones, age 71, of Sweetwater, Tennessee, went to be with his Lord on January 9, 2026. After a courageous battle with cancer, he passed peacefully in his sleep with his devoted wife by his side.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jenny Jones; his children, Bethany DeAngelis (Doug), Carla Wyatt (Chris), Bond Jones (Amber), Kelly Jones (Myron), and Luke Hill; and stepchildren, John Hill, Kelly Nunn (James), and Gary Hill. Harrell also leaves behind his beloved mother, Naida Barnett, and cherished sister, Beth Jones. He was a proud grandfather to Jonas, Isabel, Felix, Elias, Bond, Brett, Asia, Madelyn, Jacee, Katie, Spencer, Katie Rose, and Leyah, all of whom brought immense joy to his life. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Jones, and his beloved aunt, Linda Blackwell.
Above all, Harrell loved and took great pride in his family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, and a proud grandfather who found his greatest joy in spending time with those he loved. He especially cherished spending time with his son, Luke, teaching him the values of hard work, integrity, and honor. He was a man of quiet strength and deep humility.
Harrell dedicated much of his life to training and showing Tennessee Walking Horses, his greatest passion. Relationships he built during this part of his life had profound impacts on horses and people alike. Harrell shared his success with many. His competitive spirit was contagious and will be everlasting. In retirement from his professional training career, he found fulfillment as a truck driver, traveling the open roads he so loved.
He will be dearly missed by his lifelong best friend, Freddie Hill, whom he spoke with every day; family friend, Ephriam Cuerto; as well as his honorary son, Sam Douglas, and his family. The family is also profoundly grateful to the compassionate care team at Amedisys for their kindness and support.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 16, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. at Biereley-Hale Funeral Home in Madisonville, Tennessee. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 P.M. with Rev. Isaac Sparks officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Harrell’s name in honor of his grandson, Brett Wyatt. A private burial will take place on Sunday, January 18, at 1:00 P.M. at the Bond Family Cemetery at Bond’s Crossing in Brownsville, Tennessee. Harrell’s life was defined by love, faith, and quiet perseverance — and his legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
