Confusion exists over 4th of July week horse show
Thursday, April 23, 2026
It has long been the policy of the Walking Horse Report to post horse show information in our calendar at no charge. We do that to both help the horse shows with getting their information out to the Walking Horse public and it also helps our readers to know when and where horse shows will be held. We have even dedicated an issue in the first part of the year, our “Horse Show Planning Issue,” to allow horse shows to advertise at a buy one-get one offer. This issue was planned to allow everyone to see the horse shows for the year. We do our best to contact all shows from previous years and get their information included however due to when that issue is published some shows haven’t finalized their plans and thus aren’t included.
Two different horse show managers have sent information to Walking Horse Report regarding a horse show to be held at the Bedford County Agricultural Center on July 1st and 2nd of this year. In fact both have said the show will be called Christmas In July. The Walking Horse Report has talked to both horse show managers, each of which says they plan to have the show. The Walking Horse Report has also talked to a representative from the Agricultural Center board that has said Denny Russell will have the facility for July 1st and 2nd which is why that is listed on the Walking Horse Report calendar. The Walking Horse Report calendar is correct that a horse show will be held on July 1st and 2nd and should any new information be shared with Walking Horse Report from that Agricultural Center board, we will be certain to update our calendar with that new information.
